Ultrasonographic Features of Acute Appendicitis : Comparison of the simple Appendicitis and perforated Appendicitis



Abstract
A retrospective analysis of surgically confirmed 102 cases of acute appendicitis was performed to evaluate several sonographic features that appeared to be of value in differentiating perforated appendicitis from simple appendicitsi. Twenty-five
of
these patients had perforation .
Stastically significant association were found in three sonographic findings of perforated appendicitis: asymmetric appendiceal wall thickening, loculated pericecal fluid and interloop fluid or abscess.
